30-AUG-96 -- News Flash / Medium Update

K'mel Kurkura's Klingon Konnection has bestowed the title of Honor Site upon Star Trek Nexus. It is an honor to receive this award. :-)

Made over all pages to have to NEW side bar, change title page yet AGAIN, as I liked the idea about a link heavy front page I read in WebWeek.

Found a place that claims to have 1210 Trek links. Pretty useless boast if you ask me, since the links are UNsorted and UNcatagorized. Heck, I'll just go for a search engine result. I'll get about 80000 back, right? Still, it's a place to start looking for new sites. Don't worry, the guy will get a mention in the Links section.

Ever wonder what Geeks do for fun? They watch Star Trek and surf Star Trek sites, according to Geoffrey's Geekdom. Unfortunately, Star Trek is a bit rare in Australia, and Geoffrey wrote: "Star Trek Nexus is the most comprehensive Star Trek resource I've ever laid eyes on." Which made his life in the Down Under a bit eaiser...

McGill University (Canada) Graduate Program of Exopolitics has designated Star Trek Nexus as a required reading site. (grin)

Check out the new look in General Trek and Classic Trek. Added another 5 links. Found another 10 or so but haven't had a chance to add them. Also, changed the title page (again).

Kim Komando's Komputer Klinic (hmmm... I wonder if she has any Klingon blood in her?) has selected 10 sites for this week and Star Trek Nexus is one of them! They wrote: "Your web site is very fascinating! ... You are being awarded our Kool Site logo in recognition of your hard work that has gone into establishing and maintaining your site."

Never heard of Kim Komando's Komputer Klinic? Kim's a well known computer author with presence on the web as well as America On-Line and Microsoft Network.

Added (Surrey) World of Star Trek as a Top Pick. I just keep missing it. Strange, isn't it? Just kept missing the IMPORTANT stuff, didn't I?

Contacted all current Top Picks about their status and they have probably all retrieved the Top Pick award by now. :-) Added another ten sites or so.

Total links: 921, 96% verified

International is still not verified yet, and CON need to be cut up even further. Not all pages have been updated with the right count and update date yet. :-/ Also, haven't added the new sponsor yet. :-(

19-AUG-1996 -- Minor Revision

Finished the Top Picks change, started on the Guide Tour. Haven't had a chance to verify the International section, which is where I suspect any remaining dupes may be. Changed title page yet again, and designed a new footer. Haven't had a chance to put it in all pages though.

Changed the Top Picks to have better description for each entry. Also changed the title page to a more appropriate picture. Let me know if you like the old one better. Added another 4-6 links.
